We are recruiting up to 20 members for a new Youth Advisory Group

What will the Youth Advisory Group do?

  • Work with the OUTSIDE team to bring about change, to shape and co-create an exciting, meaningful and relevant creative programme for the Moorlands
  • Help the team to reflect on what is working and what is not
  • Attend cultural events and feedback on them

Examples of activities could include, participating in a workshop to discuss how to celebrate a particular local anniversary; attending an arts festival together; reading and scoring artists proposals; undertaking training in youth activism; writing blogs or getting involved in marketing activity…

Who is eligible?

  • Anyone aged between 14 and 18
  • Those who live in the Staffordshire Moorlands
  • Those with a curiosity to explore and try new things

You do not need

  • Any previous experience of arts and culture
  • Any previous youth leadership experience

How will it be beneficial to me?

  • Develop transferable skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication and events
  • Build new networks, meet interesting people and make new friends
  • Opportunities for decision making and the chance to influence activities in the place you live
  • Opportunities to attend a wide range of cultural events and experiences

What do we need to commit to?

  • Attend monthly meetings (a mixture of online and in person, sometimes at events)
  •  To contribute positively and constructively
  •  To respect other members, and to listen to them without judgement or interruption

Two members of the youth advisory group will be invited to participate in the Quarterly Consortium meetings.

Reasonable expenses can be covered  e.g. travel, caring responsibilities etc…
