OUTSIDE’s Advisory Groups:

The OUTSIDE Advisory Groups – INSIDERS (14–18) and OUTSIDERS (18+) – are made up of residents across the Staffordshire Moorlands who help inform and design the programme. They will have no experience of working in arts or cultural industries but will have a huge curiosity for the OUTSIDE project and to try out something new.

They are the community voice, instrumental in shaping ambitious projects supported by OUTSIDE. Members influence activities in the places they live, while also attending a wide range of cultural events and experiences.

Structure of the Advisory Groups

  • The OUTSIDERS are OUTSIDE’s Advisory Group, consisting of local residents who have no prior experience of working in arts and culture. Their curiosity and lived experiences are at the heart of shaping the programme.
  • The INSIDERS consist of young people aged 14–18, bringing fresh perspectives, energy, and creativity to OUTSIDE’s work.

Purpose of the Advisory Groups

  • Represent diverse voices from across the Moorlands
  • Shape, co-design, and influence OUTSIDE activities
  • Create a welcoming and accessible entry point into the arts for people with little or no prior experience
  • Develop personal and community skills, confidence, and networks
