Advent Celebrations in Leek this year

Get involved

We are thinking about December. This year, Leek is building its own advent calendar – one that shows off the generosity and kindness of the people who make Leek so special.

Throughout December 2025, instead of opening 24 Doors, Advent celebrations are being created by individuals, groups, businesses, and networks across town, shining a light on the sometimes-hidden everyday activities and initiatives that make up the fabric of our town.

Residents can look forward to gifting, lots of Santas, singalongs, lights, film, sport, mince pie meanders, a spot of history, lots of yarn and a tonne of decorations! There’ll be all sorts of stuff happening at different times and locations across town that will appeal to all sorts of different people.

Advent celebrations are being led by a small group of willing people who live and work in Leek, pulling together the energy and enthusiasm of the town into a simple calendar. The calendar will be published on 21st November, providing an overview of what’s happening, where and when.

Anyone can get involved. It may be that you’re already working on something and you want to spread the word far and wide, or maybe you have something you’d like to offer that hasn’t been done before. Your offer doesn’t have to be a timed event and can take place at an accessible location of your choice.

To get involved, contact Lorna via lorna.j.stoddart@gmail.com who will be adding to the calendar up to Monday 29th September.
