Celebrating Women in the Staffordshire Moorlands

OUTSIDE is launching a new photography project with artist Ruby Nixon to celebrate women across the Staffordshire Moorlands, marking International Women’s Day in March 2026.

We are inviting nominations for women who make a difference in their communities – in big or small ways. This could be through their work, volunteering, creativity, leadership, advocacy, or everyday acts of care and support. We want to recognise women whose contributions positively impact others, including those whose efforts might otherwise go unseen.

Selected nominees will be photographed by Ruby Nixon, with the portraits forming a public exhibition on 28 March 2026 at Wellspring Methodist Church in Cheadle. The exhibition will honour and spotlight the stories of local women, celebrating their strength, resilience and commitment to others.

If you know a woman who makes a difference in the Staffordshire Moorlands, we’d love to hear from you.

Nominate someone via this Nomination Form.

Nominations close at midnight on Thursday 5th March 2026.

Nomination guidance:

  • Please focus on the impact this person has had over the last 12 months.
  • Nominees must live or work in the Staffordshire Moorlands
  • Please ensure the person you wish to nominate is happy to be nominated and consents to you sharing their name and contact details.

We welcome nominations for women who have:

  • Made a positive difference within their community
  • Responded to the needs of women or local residents
  • Supported others through their work, volunteering, or personal commitment
  • Helped address challenges or barriers faced by women in the Staffordshire Moorlands
