Biddulph Festival – 1 July
Bringing brilliant outdoor arts to Biddulph

The annual festival runs throughout July with a variety of community events. It starts on Saturday 1st July with a launch parade through the high street from 11am and ‘Biddulph by the Sea’ where visitors will be wowed by nautical adventures.
OUTSIDE is bringing three brilliant outdoor arts performances to Biddulph Festival 2023

Festival goers will be able to enter The Whale for a short theatre show performed just for them – inside a giant tin whale! This witty and charming experience by Talking Birds Theatre Company has travelled up and down the country swallowing audiences one at a time (or in small family groups) for nearly 20 years.
Nautically-themed walkabout act Sea Sphere will transport festival goers to a place of imagination and wonder. Sea Sphere by The Show Globe is a mermaid act like no other! Visually beautiful and exquisitely detailed, Sea Sphere will be gliding along the high street mesmerising audiences on its way.
Biddulph Festival 2023 also celebrates 75 years of the NHS. To mark this, OUTSIDE has commissioned Mika De Oliveira from ART BRASIL to create a special celebratory moment at the end of the Launch Day Parade on 1st July, working with local community groups.
“We’re pleased to be working with Biddulph Festival to bring these high quality, interactive and accessible family arts experiences to the town,” commented OUTSIDE’s artistic director Sarah Bird. “These three very different pieces offer people the opportunity to engage in their own way, whether as a spectator or participant. We can’t wait to see and hear everyone’s reactions.”
The Whale and Sea Sphere will be performing throughout the day from midday onwards. Follow Biddulph Festival 2023 on Facebook for timings and details of more events.
