OUTSIDE Stories : Telling Tales – Ipstones 22-24 Mar
An OUTSIDE Stories Exchange project

Connecting communities, landscapes and myths
Ipstones Memorial Hall, 22nd - 24th March 2024

Telling Tales, the OUTSIDE Stories exchange project, travels to Ipstones!
Storyteller Ian Douglas and shadow puppeteer Jo Douglas will research local myths and legends and arrive at Ipstones Memorial Hall with a selection of local tales to tell.
Over the course of three days, Ian and Jo will perform and facilitate workshops encouraging local people to tell their own tales about their community. Ian and Jo will then weave these narrative threads into a new tale to perform back to the village residents in a storytelling finale.
- Friday 22nd March: morning – school session; 6-8pm Tales of the Moorlands performance in two halves, stay for one session or both at the Memorial Hall
- Saturday 23rd March: from 8.30am share your local tales at the Memorial Hall; drop in later at the Red Lion
- Sunday 24th March: 10am-12pm open session at the Memorial Hall to prepare for afternoon performance (any children must be accompanied by an adult); 4pm weekend finale – a brand new Magic Lantern performance of Tales of Ipstones.
