Signs of the Moorlands – 4 May

Part of Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival

Signs of the Moorlands

Biddulph Grange Country Park - 4th May, 10.30am & 2.30pm

A qualified architect and art facilitator, Martin Glover is deaf and a native British Sign Language (BSL) user. He is also an established tour guide, covering many themes relating to contemporary art and outdoor art across UK, including Yorkshire Sculpture Park where he does walking tours in the park occasionally. Here, Martin will take you on a walking tour, Signs of the Moorlands, indeed with a difference. You will explore the natural environment and have the opportunity to learn some BSL sign vocabulary.

Part of Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival

Location: Biddulph Grange Country Park, ST8 7TZ

Distance: roughly 3km

Time: allow approx 2 hours for stops along the way.

Terrain:

Paths are well marked, there are steps in places, there are rest points available. An all-terrain buggy would work with assistance. In places the terrain is boggy, especially after rain. Strong footwear is necessary. There is a section of downhill that some people might find to be steep, but the path is very good.
