Trees – 9-10 Feb 2024

TREES premiere in February

New neighbourhood touring installation coming to the Staffordshire Moorlands

9th Feb in Biddulph & 10th Feb in Leek

We are delighted to announce that we are partnering with Things That Go On Things to present their latest artwork TREES!

The touring installation will be premiering in the Staffordshire Moorlands on 9th February in Biddulph (Lawton Crescent, ST8 6EH, 4-8pm) and 10th February in Leek (Prince Charles Avenue, ST13 6QE, 4-8pm).

The life size TREE sculptures will appear in a public space and visitors will be able to peek inside to explore the wondrous world of the underground surrounded by an audio piece developed from nature itself. As dusk falls the TREES will glow and a forest will appear in the urban landscape they have landed in…

TREES is the latest artwork by Things That Go On Things. An immersive, continual piece of artwork, it incorporates sound, projection, audio visual screens and lighting as well as physical tree stump sculptures around which audiences can view, touch and listen to the world of trees. The soundscape that Jason Singh has created has used source material taken from trees and mushrooms themselves and programmed LED lighting by Colourburst connects each of the six tree stumps in a conversational role representing underground mycelium networks. As the sun sets, a beautiful immersive film of a moving forest is projected onto the nearby buildings.
